Walk With Me?

I like to walk Red Rocks Ampitheater in the early morning.  My girlfriend and I meet and have a good walk up and down many, many times all those steps that you see there.  I know that I've posted about this before, but it's that time of year.  Ski season is just around the corner and I'm already out of breath.  Eeesssshhh!

Uhmmm... I might have asked a guy if I could hold his tuba.

Blue

One of my favorite color families is the ever popular BLUE. So yesterday I walked by one of our Blue Spruce trees out front and I just happened to glance at it and was struck by just how many blue hues I could see in there.

Deep deep in there are heavy dark blue green tones, then moving out towards the sunlight the deep colors move to a smokey grey green blue.

Color. It moves me. Does it move you?

The Broadmoor Hotel

Math? Wha....????

Is it bad when my 6th grader is explaining to me some sort of math thingy and I just stare at her as if she is speaking some made up language from the time before Christ. (Oh wait, maybe that really is when it all was made up???) 

Her: So, when you have the absolute value, and the blahdy, blah, and then you add in the total value of the rational number.....

Me: Uhhhhmmm ?!?

Her: See Mommy?  See?  Look right here - it's so easy!!!!  Just solve for the variable in this exponent and you get the factorals in the permutations of the....

Me: Oh, I know that word! Exponants.... that sounds familiar. But, wha...?

Her: (exasperated) Wow Mom.  Really?

Me: sigh... yeah. 

 

Well..... Hello!

I guess I've been absent for quite some time.  Is anyone still here? I haven't been posting for a few reasons but it doesn't matter.  We had a GREAT summer and the kids are back in school, everybody's been healthy (thank goodness) and the routine is getting back into place. Thank goodness!

I'm here now and I think I'm going to do a blog overhaul.  It's time. 

I've been making some elements and papers for digital scrapbooking and having fun with that.  I've been painting and drawing and getting back to my original roots.  Things that don't involve much as far as very fine motor skills.  My arm is still such a bugger! I just can't type as much, or knit as much and not doing both of those things is really soooo sad to me.  So, with that being said, I'm VERY happy doing these other things, and having a lot of fun.  Here's a little peak:

The first picture is a small preview of the things I've created and the second photo is kindof a fantasy face.  I'm doing some special things for special someones and this is the begining.  I've NEVER done faces in this much detail before and I need to get some practice under my belt, not to mention learning how to do hair! (graphite, Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, Golden fluid acrylics.)
