Can you explain Twitter to me? I feel old. Do I need to tweet? Who do I follow? How do I find them/you?
What the heck is it and why should I do it???
Another shot of my Christmas Flower....
And, what are these called???
Comments
Micro Blog - 140 characters per Tweet. You follow anyone you want. Some by searching for their names. Some by finding one person...seeing who they follow...following some of their folks. It can snowball but you can un-follow people, as well.
I Tweet because I have random thoughts that flit thru my head and I can't corral them long enough to blog them. LOL. Also, I can do it from my phone in just a minute, as well as check up on the people I follow. Quick and easy
Some folks say it's not a conversation and I disagree. Others can comment on what you've said and you can respond, or not, just like a blog.
OH! And you can put in a blurb when you have new yarns. Even add pictures and links! That's a good one.
I highly recommend you download twitterfox if you use firefox. This will add a little icon to the bottom of your browser that will keep track of how many new tweets there are and organize them anything said by people you are following, things posted directly to you but publicly, and private messages.
I don't think I'd use twitter if I had to keep track of it directly through the website. I don't find their site all that user friendly.

You're on your own with the Twitter, but your Christmas flower is an amaryllis!

Also, if you have an iPhone, the Tweetie application is great.
If not, how come what for why?
