Well, it's been a long confusing road to get to this point, but I think The Man has figured out a circuitous way to get photos onto this a'here blog.
Thanks for all of the inquiry's about the Wheel. The little girl is gone. I was very sad to sell her, but she is going to a great new home way out in New Jersey. I'm pretty sure she'll pick up the accent quickly, so the next time I talk to her, she be saying things like, "Pour me a cup a' cawfee," and, "I need a quartah." That's the extent of what I can remember from my trip to New York. Heh, I think I'm so funny.
So, a few things going on here I guess. I'll go from most recent to farther back. Wow, I think I lost my English skills. Not to good, that, but I'm forging on. Last weekend, I went on an overnight stay with my neighborhood book club. It was my book of choice this month and I chose "The Friday Night Knitting Club" and it was a quick, if not predictable book. I read it actually when it came out awhile back. Anyway, one of the girls in our group happens to have a cabin (let's just say, it's a mansion and a LOT nicer than my house) up near Winter Park, CO and invited the group up there for an overnight stay. It happens to be right next to a little place I like to call My Dream Life. (I swear if I die and go to heaven, this is what I would be doing up there. Living next to a ski resort, raising Alpacas, and processing, dyeing, etc. my own yarn..... Nothing could be better).
The whole plan was to go to Lonesome Stone, buy some yarn, then I was going to teach a few of the girls to knit while discussing the book, and also drinking some wine, and eating heavy horsdeevorsss -- yumm. We got a tour from the wonderful owner.
Hows that for a cool machine!

A guard Llama at work, I think I might have gotten a little too close, ya think?

Here is the owner and all of us with our yarn.
So, that's what we did. Two of the girls knew how to knit, two of the others wanted to learn, and one person did not want to have anything to do with it, so I didn't push it there. Heh! But, boy, was it ever fun getting new knitters going. You could tell how excited they were when the "Light" clicks on and they "get it".

The next morning, we woke up to the first snow.

Which reminds me to tell you. We have two ski-hills that have opened already for the season already. Get on up here you guys!

After the sad demise of my favorite cat ever, we went out and got two new kitties. This one is called, "Boo" and is, I think, feral. He is six months old and very skittery. But, he is slowly coming around. Just don't make any sudden moves or he will disappear silently, and as fast as a bullet.
This one is Morris. A solid, unmoving lump of love. He has no fear, and he tries to play with Missy the 110 lb. Rottweiler, who has been trained by many a kitty to be as frightened as a mouse when it comes to cats. Missy scoots away and lowers her head, won't make eye contact, and lays down in the corner to cower when Morris rubs on her. It's just not right!
They both have already earned their keep, having escaped into the garage one night, and brought in three mice to show off and play with. Holy cow, that scared me. Morris came right up to me, making a combo puring, meowing sound with this THING in his mouth. He then proceeded to throw it up in the air, bat at it, then chase it down, only to do it over and over again just out of my reach. Not cool. Mr. Boo just ate 'em up. Gross. Just GROSS! I think we'll keep putting them out there every once in awhile to do their job. They just can't come in, until the whole thing's over. Period.

On the knitting front.... I have two sweaters to show you. These are my Klaralund parts. Back, front, and the start of one sleeve. I can't wait to have this done, but of course I had to cast on for the beautiful Mr. Greenjeans as well. It was calling to me.
My Mr. Greenjeans is really Mr. PinkandPurplejeans, but you get the idea. This is being knit in Manos del Uraguay. The knitted part is 1 ball of yarn, and you can see the second sitting there. Totally a fast knit. Especially when watching the ROCKIES!!!!
Ok, so I wasn't a Rockies fan. At all. I'm a diehard Padres fan, but now that the Rockies have done something with themselves I guess I can share that diehardedness with the Rockies. It's because we moved here to Denver, I know. They've done good. Goin' to the World Series and all has proved their worthiness so to speak. I guess I can go and buy a hat now.

Speaking of hats. I need to wear one when I am walking this...
Normally I just walk these:
Straight up the sides of the amphitheater, but I'm getting a bit better, and I walk straight up the center seats now, switching legs as the lead stepper. I can do 4 rounds now which is about 4.5 miles all UP HILL. Yes, I get winded, but ski season is here, and I'm not going to be left behind! My kids can out ski me, man, and that's just not right.
Here is the view and the ONLY reason I like walking these steps (oh yeah, and the SWAT team guys, and the police men, and the firefighters)

Hey, you know this is what I named my company after, right?
So, that's it for today.
Have a great one!
Go Rockies!
And, that is finally, all she wrote..................
