For my family and those who don't knit an F. O. is a "Finished Object". Before today, this project was offically a U.F.O. = An "Un-finished Object."
Today, I present to you The Fake Isle Hat by Amy King
Yarn: 1 ball of unknown color of Noro Silk-Garden ( a LOT left over)
About 100 yards of my own handspun - Islandic Lambs Wool (tan)
My very first attempt at using two strands of yarn at a time.
Now, before I show you my photos, I must explain. I finished it this morning, washed and blocked it and I think it will fit The Man. In the pics you can see the green bowl it is blocking on. It is still tight around the cris-crossy part and then loosens up after the green band. But, actually when I tried the hat on it looked cool. And, it is not as pointy up there as it looks. I haven't pulled through the yarn and woven-in any yarn yet. Once it is done drying all the way, I'll do that.
And, check out this view.
So spidery. I got some good tips from you guys. Thanks! I think I'll have to knit this again, but this time using your ideas on what to do.
Ok, the kiddos are home and I've got to go do homework. I'll chat again later!
And, t h a t ' s aaaaaaaaaalllllllllll she wrote....

Great hat! I have not tried that technique before so I'm very impressed. And your husband will get lots of use out of it in all that cold weather.

Love the Hat Mary-Kay. I have to try that. I want to make one for my daughter, but am afraid
it will give her something else to take care of. I'll have to find some superwash morino or something.

That looks awesome, I especially like the inside pic--look at you go!
(Hey, do you still have any undyed hankies or caps? People in the spin group were interested in them and I mentioned they might want to get a hold of you to see if you had some you were willing to part with.)

oooo purty! really purty! I haven't tried a complicated pattern like that yet. Nancy's fair isle is turning out so nicely and now add yours to the mix and I'm awfully tempted!
