I KNOW all of you knew about this. I've heard about it, but that is it. I'm a "fly to the destination" kind of girl. I've never just driven to discover things. This trip is truly about the TRIP being the DESTINATION.
I've seen lots of Europe, Greece, the Middle East, Mexico and South America. I've seen PARTS of our very own country. But nothing like I've done on this trip. And this was only two states. Man, we have a LOT to go.
This is Byron standing at the bottom of the falls in Box Canyon near Ouray. A little mining town where Jeeps rule the earth. You can rent a Jeep and go EVERYWHERE. It is definatly a town where you picture in your mind what mountain living is all about while living in Southern California. We met a cool family that moved to Durango, CO from Mission Viejo last year and they gave us some good tips. They love it there and will never go back. Both left corporate jobs and made killer money. They moved to Durango with the money from selling their house and are living the high life.
Me with crazy camping hair and the kiddos. They gave me a hug for making it up a killer scary climb up some steps that were carved into the hill. Looking down about made me freeze. In fact, I did freeze. Byron got it all on vidio tape. Scary.
We'll be home on Monday! Today we go to four corners, then on to Flagstaff, AZ. From there, an 8 hour drive to San Diego. Home, to my own bed. My own shower.... A blowdryer.....
Talk to you then!
Oh yeah, knitting!!!! I only got about 2 inches done on a sock. You know why? It is WAY to bumpy in the truck to read or knit. Oh well. I've been highly entertained by the scenery and my iPod.
Chat ya later!
