Yesterday, I took the girls down to get their ears "PIERED" as Devin says. I've been trying to talk them into it for awhile now and yesterday Erica told me she was "ready now, Mom. I'm a big girl" So there you go, I jumped on the chance and we went right down to the mall, to "Claires" and got it done. Erica was so stoic and brave.
I didn't think that Devin would do it at all, but she watched Erica do it just fine. Up she hopped onto the stool and was ready to go. The lady did the first ear, and quickly went around to the second ear and did that just as quickly. I saw little Devin's lips go down on the sides in that look I know so well and one tear slid out and down her cheek. She looked at me and said, "are we done?" and then wanted up. She slid her little arms around my shoulders and cried silently for about 5 seconds. I FELT SO BAD!!!! Am I am bad mommy for doing this? NOPE, She had a HUGE smile on her face once she saw herself in the mirror. "I'm fancy Mommy!"
Erica asked if she was brave. Oh you bet. From then on the piercings haven't hurt them at all. I mean AT ALL... And, there you have the piercing story.

My girls woke me up this morning. I was out like a light and was REALLY asleep when they said in their loudest voices, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOMMY!" Well, I got served a fresh cup of coffee, AND, the coolest of cool, I got a plate of my Atkins breakfast bar (cinnamon of course), CUT UP into little pieces, just like I like it! Then Little Miss Devin sat beside me and fork fed me with a little 1/2 in. square of the bar and told me to drink a sip of coffee in between, while Erica told me all about their shopping experience at Target and how they picked out the cool earings that they gave me. I told them stories of when they were born, and how it is when I wake them up EVERY night to check them (gotta do this for some reason). They listened as they do when they are hearing about themselves.
"Isn't this the best mother's day ever mommy?" "Don't you LOVE this?". You bet 'cha. I wouldn't want anything more honey.

This is the mid-week spark that has been given by the Art Journal Challenge. Three books I see.
stand up.
find the nearest book.
pick it up, read the covers only and put it down.
turn so you're facing another direction. repeat.
and one more time.
you've just read three important things about your life as it is right now. but, what does it say exactly?
"In Plain Sight" a book about Elizabeth Smart. This is the girl who was kidnapped by that psycho guy who thought he was a god or working toward it. He was here in San Diego! Ok, San Diego county, so I would have never seen them, but HELLO! Living downtown as I do, that strange sight would have grabbed me good. Being so outspoken I probably would have talked to them, but really, WHO KNOWS! Poor girl, she was just plain brainwashed.
Two magazines I think are the absolute coolest that I've discovered are "Ready Made-Instructions for everyday life", and "How". The latter I discovered through Ali's and Donna's blogs. I guess I wouldn't say these are books, but they are what are around me right now.
What does that say about me? The book about Elizabeth is just because I'm curious about what happened to her. Laurie loned it to me. Nothing deep about that. The cool mags might say something about me though. I'm very interested in learning more about design principles and anything design related. That explains "How" mag. As for "Ready Made" it is just cool mag about creating "things" yourself. The cover for this month says "make stuff: classic lamps, scrapbooks, room dividers, spring rolls, a plan" and "Easy Makeovers! 26 ways to change your: KITCHEN! BEDROOM! LIGHTING! PERSONALITY!" How could I NOT pick up this magazine. It's going to tell me how to change my personality. I LOVE THAT!
I think I would take out some things of my personality, such as: my loud laugh, my quick anger, my judgment of people, and a few other things. Then I would add in: calmness, peacefulness with what I already have, the ablitly to see others first in a GOOD light, HMMMM, that list could go on and on.
Already then, MORE LATER!

My Friend Roxanne came over with her family last night. We got some things on the calander FINALLY! We are going to Palm Springs in July (H-O-T), Dinner at their house with a pool party for their new pool, and a Disneyland day before our passes run out in November. The guys sat upstairs and hung out, talked about surfing and trips to Mexico, the kids played all over the house and on the Trampoline outside, and Roxy and I played downstairs in my "Art" room. I can't just call it a Scrapbook Room anymore. We made two bracelets each. We decided that we weren't beading enough and needed something new for our wrists and here you goooo. My eye doesn't want to co-operate very well, so it took me a little longer. Can I get an eye transplant? Sheesh. Here are the cool braelets I made...

I haven't been posting much on here to make this blog fun lately. I've joined this VERY cool art journal challenge and it has been kindof consuming me with all kinds of idea. Art, is Art, is Art. If I'm painting my HUGE canvases or working in a little 10 x 12 album, then it is still getting the creative-ness out of me and the craziness in my head OUT. Here is my journal cover. Kindof different... See what you think...

I joined an art journal challange and here is my second page. Loads of fun and I don't want to stop. There are some really talented and well known people in this challenge, so I'm a bit scared to post my work. But, that is what it is for. It's a CHALLENGE! The bottom pic shows the cool supplies that I used for this page. CAN"T get enough....

The kids had their musical today at Church. There are about 150 or so kids in the musical and it is a blast to watch.... Devin took it all seriously. Really serious... You could tell, she would look around her to make sure all the kids were holding their signs up like she was, or sitting in the right place, or making the hand movements correctily. Well Miss Missy... She, of course, held her sign the HIGHEST, and the straightest. Devin is the letter "E"---Check this out...
This next pic here are all the kids on the left side of the stage, Erica on the top row and Devin on the bottom center, front row. Hard to see Erica this time.
GOTTA love Men in UNIFORM. The song that the kids sang and the military men and women that came to be in the musical made everyone cry. There was a HUGE standing ovation for them all. The Marines were my favorite.
I took about 130 photos for Shelle, the choir director. Of course I got good ones of MY kids! Haha. Ok, guys,
More later!
